Making 85,000 bricks out of waste from the Gentenaar? How cool is that?
Behind the walls of the old railway site Het Arsenaal in Ghent, BC materials produces 85,000 pressed bricks from lime, white cement, sand and crushed waste clear glass and concrete recovered from construction sites in Ghent. This Gent Waste Brick for DING is thus pressed and dried in Ghent (no baking is required). Afterwards, the facing brick needs only 4 kilometres of transport to the construction site. 20 and 21 April was a festive weekend full of fascinating lectures, fine workshops and surprising performances.
